FAMILY MEMBERS Outings/Activities
While the Webelos leader must witness the scout performing most activity badge requirements, Family Member and Handyman are two exceptions. Probably the best thing the Webelos leader can do is meet with the parents after a patrol meeting, hand out the requirements, and discuss them with the parents. Then spend a few moments at each ensuing meeting to discuss what each has accomplished.

Be sensitive how you handle this; some parents may not be very proactive and your intent should not be to embarrass that scout (this material may be a bit challenging for a 10- or 11-year-old that doesn't have parental support); the weekly discussions would be intended ensure each scout masters the intent of each requirement and doesn't get left behind.
