Powder Horn is a new training opportunity designed as an action-packed, hands on outdoor course to expose the Venturing and other Scouting adult leaders to the resources necessary to operate a successful unit-level high adventure program and support the Ranger program.
Course Sessions Include: Backpacking, Cooking, Project COPE, Communications, Cave Exploring, Conservation, Cycling, Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, Expedition Planning, Ecology, Equestrian, Fishing, Land Navigation, Leave No Trace, Lifesaving, Mountaineering, Outdoor Living History, Physical Fitness, Plants & Wildlife, SCUBA, Shooting Sports, Watercraft, and Wilderness Survival.
Course Requirements:
Be a registered Scouting adult leader
Complete New Leader Essentials and Position Specific or older basic course prior to attending Powderhorn
Receive a recommendation from your Council Executive or designee
Meet BSA High Adventure Class III medical requirements
